Our kitten
room.
How
it came to be.-How it is used.
My good husband
decided (out of neccesity),to build an extra half floor open-room as study area,in
the sitting-room.Not that we study a lot,but we had a daughter who was at that
time, still living at home, like many girl’s of her age she liked to phone a
lot,and chat online,(both at the same time). The telephone bill was a bit
frightening.

We had this crazy idea, that we could keep an eye on what she was
upto,and prevent further
unexpectedly high bills.Teenagers are extremely imaginative, our efforts where
for a waste of energy. Our little darlings study, has now taken her to Amsterdam
and she also lives there.(It saves all that travel, back and forth).
Ok,back
downstairs with the desk, computer and the telephone.

Alright,now we
have a half floor
open-room,not beeing used for anything. We also have a
Rotweiler who forgets that he has a rear-end,from which we reguarly
have to rescue
kittens from being trampled underfoot,so Dave decided to timber up the open
study room, put in some leaded glass windows, and that was the birth of the kitten
room.

The kittens
remain in the kitten room till they are vaccinated, they have baskets,
climb
ropes,scratch
poles and a swing. Its safe and free from possible infections
from the
group.Mother puss, also finds it more relaxing, not to have to worry about her
kits wandering off,or other cats, dogs, kids, ect.wandering in.

The kitten room
is two by five meters,en devided into three seperate sections.
One section with
a high step,to keep them in while they are very small. So soon as they can get
over the step,we open the second section, and after that the third.
At around nine
weeks and a few days, they enter the groep, this keeps the danger of outside
infection to a minimum.
